AHCCCS Income Limits

The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is the Medicaid health insurance provider for qualified people in Arizona. Those in Arizona who are residents and meet certain AHCCCS Income Limits can qualify for these healthcare services. AHCCCS service or benefit denials can request an AHCCCS State Fair Hearing as an appeal. The people who are eligible to apply for AHCCCS Health Plans are:

  • Arizona residents who are 65 years old and older
  • Those who have a disability
  • Individuals who must have nursing home care
  • Individuals who are to receive in-home care
  • Those who have developmental disabilities and require long-term care
  • Adults and children who have limited income
  • Children under 19 years old who are not insured and have an income more than Medicaid limits

If an Arizona resident is under 26 years of age and wishes to get AHCCCS coverage and when they turned 18 they were under Foster Care through the DES (Department of Economic Security), they may be able to qualify for AHCCCS regardless of how much money they make. This medical coverage by the AHCCCS assists in residents being able to visit a doctor, get their immunizations, have physical exams, get prescriptions filled and get hospital care.
